Maths made easy!!!

By Nazia Kabeer on Saturday, December 2, 2017

In year 3 we have started to use bar models to help with problem solving. Look at the following explanation and then draw your own bar model to solve the problems below.

KS2 Maths Problem |

The Bar Model Company brings to you an animated solution to a KS2, Year 3+, word problem using the bar model approach. This visual approach helps pupils understand complex problems and makes them seem a lot more manageable. The Bar Model Company aims to take Bar Modelling to another level.

The Ninjagos have to deliver 358 leaflets for their tea shop. They have delivered some and have 289 left to deliver. How many leaflets have they delivered?

Princess Aurora and Princess Tiana have 200 beads altogether. Tiana has 40 more beads than Aurora. How many beads does Tiana have?

There are 71 princesses at the ball. There are 29 more princesses than princes at the ball. How many princes are there at the ball?
