Bronze in the regional finals!!!

More fantastic news from the PE department!!!


Hi all Cricketeer and sports Fans.

Al-Furqan was part of the regional final that took place Thursday 15th of June 2017 at the Oasis, Hobmore.  Only 4 schools qualified for this event.  and the competition was much more challenging.  English Martyrs, Blakesley Hall, Holy Family and Al-Furqan.

Our school was able to compete at a high level reaching 3rd position in the competition.  Welldone Al-Furqan.

Ustaad Imran, commented … “the competition was hard but challenging and we were able to perform to our highest standard to meet competition edge.

The Cricketing team were proud of this achievement and vowed next year to achieve a higher medal.  “Well done year 5, i believe you will.  Your positive attitude is brilliant and that’s what is needed in achieving higher standards” Ustaad Mohammed.

The Cricketing team were Zain Raza 5M, Kallum 5M, Raihan 5M, Faizin 5L, Mussah 5L, Mohammed Amine 5L, Abdi Aziz 5L, Musa Kadri 4M, Asima 4M, Taha 5M.


Players comments:

Musa Kadri 4L commented “i felt realy happy and excited that we won bronze.  I am graetful that i was chosen and that i played.  It was a great experience”.

Asima 4m stated, “i felt realy happy and excited because i thought that we will come 1st or 2nd place, but we came 3rd and i was very happy.  It was a great cricket competition.”

Raihan 5m said “when i got selected i was excited.  In the regional finals, we got 3rd which was a big achiement for the team.

Finally, Kallum added: “I felt excited and happy”

Welldone year 4 and 5 Cricketeers.  Keep up the fantastic work!

Well done boys !! I am pretty sure you will have inspired Pakistan vs India in their final countdown in Edgbaston and led to victory in the ICC Trophy. Brilliant !
