SPRINGFIELD ALLOTMENT VISIT

The children have really enjoyed the “Allotments” topic as shown by the high quality work produced and their enthusiasm in lessons. We studied the geography of where our local allotments are and how growing your own vegetables has changed over time. We used our expert researching computing skills to find out lots of information, about planting and how to look after an allotment. Finally we put our knowledge into practice whilst visiting Springfield Allotments in Moseley where under the expert guidance of Mr Khan, Year 5 children took part in planting some vegetables, completing a scavenger hunt, designing a scarecrow, measuring the plots using a trundle wheel and studying some very wiggly worms!
